# auth.md — KugelAudio API authentication

KugelAudio's public API uses user-owned API keys; it does not offer OAuth or automated agent registration.

1. A user creates an account at [KugelAudio](https://www.kugelaudio.com/en/signup).
2. The user creates an API key in the [dashboard](https://www.kugelaudio.com/en/dashboard).
3. Send the key only from server-side code as `Authorization: Bearer KUGELAUDIO_API_KEY`.

Do not ask a user to paste an API key into a chat, browser form, or client-side application. For endpoint details, use the [API reference](https://docs.kugelaudio.com/api-reference/introduction).
